Valentine’s Day
February 14th
Valentine’s Day is on
February 14th
VALENTINE GLOW
There is a day in February
When hearts are so aglow
Little thoughts of springtime
Reach out to melt the snow.
"Tis love for one another that
Through cold and gray can shine:
Tis the love for one another
That makes a Valentine!
On Valentine’s Day we think of those
Who make our lives worthwhile,
Those gracious , friendly people who
We think of with a smile.
Valentine’s Day is a special time
For songs to sing
And poems that rhyme,
A happy time for everyone
Valentine’s Day Card
February is the month
when hearts go on display;
in every card shop window
there`s a fanciful array.
Painted hearts and lacy hearts,
some with darts and cupid`s bow,
and on each card endearing
words,
that say, "I love you so."
Chocolate Candy
Red boxes of chocolate candy are popular on Valentine’s Day
Gift and Card
There`s nothing like a Valentine,
To make a smile appear,
A heart-shaped card filled with kind words,
Sent from someone who`s dear.
A friend or even a relative,
Who takes the time to say,
I like you just because you`re you.
That`s what is done this day.
Flowers for You
The most traditional present for this day are the flowers.
When you’re short of words, flowers can express love beautifully,
cos flowers in themselves are amazing.
Cupid
Cupid, another symbol of Valentine`s Day, became associated with it because he was the son of Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty.
Cupid often appears on Valentine cards holding a bow and arrows because he is believed to use magical arrows to inspire feelings of love.
The legend says St. Valentine
Was in a prison cell
Thinking of his little flock
He had always loved so well
And wanting to assure them
Of his friendship and his love
He picked a bunch of violets
And sent them by a dove.
The Legend of Valentine
And on the violets` leaves
He pierced these lines divine
That simply said, "I Love You"
And "I`m your Valentine"
So through the years that followed
From that day unto this
Folks still send messages of love
And seal them with a kiss.
Because a Saint in prison
Reached through prison bars one day
And picked a bunch of violets
And sent them out to say
That faith and love can triumph
No matter where you are
For faith and love are greater
Than the strongest prison bar.
Love is smiling on the inside and out.
Love is something you can`t describe like the look of a rose, the smell of the rain, or the feeling of forever.
I`d like to hang a Valentine
Upon the world`s front door
With hearts of love and peace entwined
To last forevermore.
With love to guide our daily path,
There would be no one in need;
God`s blessings would be shared by all
Of every race and creed.

Nói với em
| Nếu nhắm mắt trong vườn lộng gió, | |
| Sẽ được nghe nhiều tiếng chim hay, | |
| Tiếng lích rích chim sâu trong lá, | |
| Con chìa vôi vừa hót vừa bay. | |
| Nếu nhắm mắt nghe bà kể chuyện, | |
| Sẽ được nhìn thấy các bà tiên, | |
| Thấy chú bé đi hài bảy dặm, | |
| Quả thị thơm, cô Tấm rất hiền. | |
| Nếu nhắm mắt nghĩ về cha mẹ, | |
| Đã nuôi em khôn lớn từng ngày, | |
| Tay bồng bế sớm khuya vất vả, | |
| Mắt nhắm rồi lại mở ra ngay. | |
